Hank decided to enter the nursing field after one semester of education in engineering and quickly learned that was not his calling.
"My best friend's mother was a registered nurse who started a conversation with me about a career in nursing," Hank says. "I have her to thank for my choice of nursing."
Hank knew he wanted to be in Family Medicine since his clinical rotation at Runde Clinic, now Springfield Clinic Runde, for his APN program. After working at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital for nearly ten years, he joined Runde Clinic as a nurse practitioner in 2010. He is most passionate about helping his patients through health promotion and disease prevention.
Hank earned his Master of Science in Nursing and his undergraduate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
Hank serves as a board member of a women's and children's shelter in Charleston, Ill., called Hedwig Haus. He also helps locally with activities through various religious organizations.
In his free time, Hank enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing tennis, skiing, boating, camping and golfing.
