Peyton Thomas, MD, provides care with Springfield Clinic’s Hospital Medicine Department. She sees patients at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Thomas completed both her medical degree and internal medicine residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

"Hospitalization can be such a key time in a patient's life," says Dr. Thomas. "As their health and life are changing, it is a privilege to be able to care for them and quickly get them healthier and back home to their families."

Dr. Thomas is a life-long resident of central Illinois and she is excited to provide care in the community she grew up in.

"Hospital medicine is a unique pace in health care," says Dr. Thomas. "Some patients are receiving health care for the first time while others are changing the trajectory of their care or encountering a new diagnosis. My job is to assure them and provide the highest quality care that I can."

In her free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys being outside with her family. They go for bike rides on the Sangamon Valley Trail and spend time in their yard with their dog.
