Kwaku Opoku, MD, provides care with the Radiology team at Springfield Clinic Main Campus East.

Dr. Opoku earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and an independent residency in interventional radiology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga.

Dr. Opoku's childhood influenced his decision to become a physician. "I grew up in Ghana where health care is limited," he says. "I was inspired at an early age to pursue medicine and, when I moved to the U.S. at age 21, I saw the opportunity and path to pursue a career in medicine."

Dr. Opoku is excited to start the next chapter of his life in Springfield, and looks forward to giving back to his community through health education. “I would love opportunities to give back to my community,” he says.

In his free time, Dr. Opoku enjoys traveling, visiting new countries and playing sports like soccer, tennis and racquetball.
