Dr. Cullen Hoos' own medical experience is what drew him to becoming a doctor. "I'm a survivor of childhood cancer and spent about two years in and out of the hospital undergoing chemotherapy. I have always wanted to give back what was given to me as young child," he says.

He earned his medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine in Great River, N.Y. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Hoos spends time with his two young children who keep him very busy. He also is excited to get more involved in community education to improve health care literacy.
