Jeffrey R. Ruskusky, DPM, FACFAS, developed an interest in the medical field as a child who frequently required medical care. He knew he wanted to help people in the same way he had been helped.
His family ties drew him to the podiatry specialty. "My dad was a podiatrist, and as I got older, my interest grew," he says. "Once I got to college, I made the decision to go to podiatry school so I could come back and work with my dad at his practice."
Dr. Ruskusky earned his medical degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his podiatric surgery residency at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Ill. He has more than 20 years of experience providing podiatry care in Illinois.
"I like that with many podiatry issues, patients can start feeling better by the time they leave the office," he says. "There are a lot of things you can address with immediate results, and that is exciting."
In his free time, Dr. Ruskusky enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
